This week in class we will be discussing the writing process. If you look at our course philosophy, it says that "writing is revision." This is to say that writing is first and foremost a process and not simply a product that you hand in to your instructor. The reading this week in The Transition to College Writing and EasyWriter explain more about the writing process and what it looks like.
This week we will also be discussing the proper use of italics. Italics are a form of punctuation that writers use primarily to demarcate titles. Make sure to do the exercises 41.1 and 43.1 in EasyWriter. You will turn this in on the same sheet that you answer your study question.

Finally, on Thursday the exploratory draft to our first paper is due. For this particular draft I want you to fill out the exploratory exercises appended to the prompt. This is available on our website.
NOTE: You should proofread and edit your exploratory draft before you turn it in.
