We will begin our second unit on journalism next week. Over the past two years, the press has been attacked with an unprecedented and unwarranted vehemence. While we should not give the institutions of the press a free pass, we should also be aware that they have a vital role in maintaining a free democracy and informing the public. Therefore, in that spirit we will watch a film that celebrates the role of journalism this week. I will pass out study questions in class that we will use to inform our discussion on 4.2 when we conclude the film. If you are not here, I will not accept your answers for credit. This will negatively impact your homework grade.
On 4.2, your first assignment is due. In a manila envelope or a folder (note: not a binder), you should submit the following:
